How Impact Etching works on granite
Instead of burning the surface the way a laser does, a DiamondEdge-300 granite engraving machine uses a diamond tip to physically strike the stone thousands of times, removing the polished surface to reveal the lighter stone beneath. That mechanical action creates a bright, dimensional, permanent engraving that reads clearly outdoors for decades — no paint or darkening step required. Auto surface tracking keeps the diamond tip at the correct depth as it follows the natural contour of the stone, so results stay consistent across the whole piece.
